Onc Sharry Baby ‘Sweet Fragrance’

Oncidium Sharry Baby ‘Sweet Fragrance’ AM/AOS

(Onc Jamie Sutton × Onc Honolulu)

My Sharry Baby is a very healthy orchid and its chocolate scent is to die for! It may not have enough light to bloom as vigorously as I would like. I’m not a fan of Oncidium orchids in general; their appearance can be kind of unruly and the flowers just aren’t my favorite. I’ve gifted and sold all of them except this one, and I’m considering replacing it with the more compact variety.

History and Features

The Oncidium Sharry Baby is a beloved hybrid orchid that produces tall, branching flower spikes reaching up to three feet in length, each loaded with dozens of small, cheerful blooms in rich burgundy-red with white accents. These abundant flowers release a delightful chocolate fragrance reminiscent of fresh-baked brownies, which is strongest during warm afternoons. This is an easy-growing orchid and a popular choice for both novice and experienced growers.
